Jenny Krueger, principal owner, received her degrees in music performance and music education from the University of Denver, New Mexico State University, and Mannes College of Music in New York. She has over 30 years of experience as a professional symphony musician and has twenty years of teaching experience. While teaching, Jenny developed and introduced a music education curriculum for elementary, middle, and high schools in New Mexico and Virginia.
Krueger joined the Acadiana Symphony & Conservatory of Music as executive director in 1996 and led its financial turnaround. Krueger developed a rolling strategic plan with the company’s board and staff, targeting education, fund development and branding as key areas for rebuilding. Recognizing the educational impact the Conservatory brings to a community, she developed and implementation pilot programs in music education that targeted early childhood illiteracy. The success of Krueger’s innovative arts-integrated curricula titled Do-Re-ME! (created for the underprivileged) garnered acclaim statewide among leaders in public education and received the INNOV8 Award in 2015.
To address adult education needs and to increase public accessibility to artistic performances, Krueger launched Overture Magazine (OM). As creator and publisher of Overture Magazine, a 9 issue per year publication, Krueger created a forum of open exchange about the arts in Acadiana, and supported all artistic efforts in Acadiana leading to increased discussion and attendance of artistic experiences. As the public face and voice of the Symphony, Jenny heightened community awareness of the organization and increased public accessibility to performances.
In 2016, Krueger joined the financially stable Sun Valley Summer Symphony & School of Music in Sun Valley, Idaho. Krueger set the goal of enhancing the Sun Valley Summer Symphony’s status as the nation’s leader of Summer Music Festivals and Summer Educational offerings by overseeing its expansive season with internationally known performers such as Diana Krall and Lang Lang and increasing the educational offerings in a collaborative project with the Harmony Project organization from Los Angeles, California.
Krueger has served on the Editorial Board of The Daily Advertiser, SLCC Foundation Board of Directors, Leadership Institute of Acadiana Board of Directors, and the 705 Advisory Committee.
